Wilmslow Show

An annual summer event, sometimes plagued by rain, sometimes not. The 2007 show was cancelled due to the weather.

There are flower, produce & crafts competitions in the tent.

Punch and Judy for the children.

There are lots of farms around Wilmslow so it's also a small agricultural show.

The umbrella in the background is to keep the sun off - not the rain. And no, that's not snow on the cattle's backs.

The 2001 Foot & Mouth outbreaks meant that the agricultural element was not present, but we were instead treated to a demostration of duck & goose herding, complete with a sheepduckdog.

The show's former venue was the Carnival Fields off Water Lane , but in recent years it has been held on the playing fields of Wilmslow High School. Going back even further there used to be Wilmslow Carnival, complete with a procession through the town.
